Urbana Police Division - Obtaining Video
In accordance with Ohio Law (Pursuant to Ohio House Bill 315), law enforcement agencies are permitted to charge for the costs associated with retrieving, reviewing, redacting, and producing video records. The Urbana Police Division charges a fee for the production of video footage from body-worn cameras, in-car cameras and / or other video public records. The fee is $75 per hour of video produced, with a maximum charge of $750 per request. This fee is necessary to cover the costs associated with reviewing, redacting, processing, storing, and distributing video files.

- To request body worn camera or cruiser camera video, please complete a Records Request Form, by emailing [email protected] . The completed form can be mailed, faxed, emailed, or delivered to the Records Department located at 205 S. Main Street, Urbana, OH, 43078.
- The cost to prepare requested video will be sent to the requester upon the Division's receipt of the request. Please note that each officer responding to an incident will have a separate video record from their body worn camera and cruiser camera.
- The Police Division will only begin processing a video record for release once this fee has been paid.
- We will notify you when we receive your payment. Once the footage is ready we will contact you to either pick it up at the Urbana Police Division or provide an address you would like it mailed to.
