POINTE NORTH Nature Park
2222 US ROUTE 68 NORTH
A new opportunity for area families to enjoy nature in a 225 acre landscape that is unique in Ohio for it’s biodiversity and an old growth forest. Towering pine trees and massive oaks provide different wooded habitats. Six lakes and miles of hiking trails showcase a rich seasonal palette of natural beauty. The abundant aquifers of Champaign County burst forth from a blue hole spring pond and produces a beautiful stream and clear water lakes.
While currently closed, the park is undergoing a planning effort by community volunteers in collaboration with the City of Urbana to develop new strategies to re-open Pointe North Nature Park as a hands-on nature park. This multi-phased plan will provide hiking, fishing, kayaking and primitive camping through a series of organized events. For Questions or Comments Click Here. |
