What is Safety Town?
Safety Town is for children entering Kindergarten to learn lessons on safety. Topics include:
The purpose of these lessons is to prepare our children for their first day of school. Participants will learn how to ride on a school bus, how to be safe walking to and from school, how to stay safe on the playground, and what to do if approached by a stranger.
Safety town is located at the City of Urbana Melvin Miller Park, just south of the city pool. The park office will serve as the meeting place and classroom. Some of the lessons will be taught on a school bus, in the UFD Fire Safety trailer, on the playground, and in Safety Town.
Safety town is a miniature town where participants get to practice what they learn in the classroom in a safe environment. Urbana Police Officers will lead the lessons each day.

Class One - June 17-21 from 8:30 - 11:30 am
Class Two - June 24 - 28 from 8:30 - 11:30 am
