The primary responsibilities of Sewer Maintenance include the maintenance of gravity and force mains, 4 pump stations and related infrastructure. This infrastructure is made up of approximately 77 miles of sanitary sewer lines and over 1,200 manholes. This Division responds to OUPS (call before you Dig; Call 811) tickets and mark the Sanitary and Storm Sewer main and service lines that the City of Urbana is responsible for. We responded to over 5200 OUPS tickets in 2018. Which is another record year for locate tickets. This division also has a state-of-the-art sewer main inspection camera, sewer service inspection camera and a combo Jet/Vac truck that is used to clean sewer main lines.
 
New for 2019: Sewer Division staff will be receiving a New Utility Crane Truck and a manhole saw mid-summer. Sewer Staff will now be replacing and adjusting manholes to make for a smoother transition driving over top of the manhole lids. This will make for a much more enjoyable and smoother drive throughout the City of Urbana.
