REQUIRED LEAD MAPPING
Under a new Ohio law enacted in June 2016, public water systems are now required to identify areas that are known to contain or likely to contain lead services lines by March 9, 2017. The law requires community water systems to identify and map areas of their distribution systems that are known or likely to contain lead service lines. The maps will be used by Ohio EPA to ensure that the proper lead and copper sampling is done in areas of lead service lines.
The City of Urbana Water Division has complied with this mapping requirement by the required deadline. The City of Urbana's map can be viewed by clicking here. The full database of mapping efforts by community water systems is available here.
