Mission Statement
We the members of the Urbana Police Division, pledge to provide professional quality service with integrity and teamwork, to keep Urbana a pleasant place to live, work, and visit.
Welcome to the City of Urbana Police Divisions’ website. It is our hope that within these pages, you will find the information about the services we provide while proudly serving the citizens of Urbana. We are committed to partnering with the Urbana community and have strong support from the citizens of Urbana.
The Urbana Police Division patrols, protects and serves a city with the population of approximately 11,793 residents and 7.77 square miles of land. The Police Division’s current authorized strength is 23 Officers; however we are four short of full strength. We also have two part-time civilian employees who help us with records and building maintenance. |
Chief Lingrell has been with the Urbana Police Division since 1984. He administers the daily operations of the Police Division, which include the Patrol Unit, Investigative Unit, Records Unit and various outreach programs. He is responsible for coordinating, directing and developing the budget, strategic goals and action plans for the division. He is also responsible for developing policy and procedures as well as overseeing professional standards for the division.
We are always looking at ways we can improve ourselves. We conduct random monthly Citizen Surveys of people who have had contact with police during the previous month to help us to gauge areas we are succeeding in as well as areas we could improve in. Supervisors conduct and report monthly Shift Level Reviews, showing the highlights of activities the officers on that shift have achieved over the past month.
Please take the time to visit our Outreach Programs to see what is available for our community. Learn more about your police division by visiting our Annual Reports for previous years. Or help us to solve current unsolved crimes or to catch criminals we are looking for by checking out our Most Wanted Page.
The Mission of the Urbana Police Division is: “We, the members of the Urbana Police Division, pledge to provide professional, quality service with integrity and teamwork, to keep Urbana a pleasant place to live, work, and visit”.
If you have a comment, complaint, concern, compliments or questions, please feel free to contact me at [email protected] or (937) 652-4364.
